Lisa: Do you remember that contest I entered last month?
리사: 내가 지난 달 대회에 콘테스트에 이름 써넣은 것 기억해?

Chris: Actually no. It must have slipped my mind.
크리스: 아니 . 잊어버렸나봐.

Lisa: Last month I filled out an entry form for this contest.
리사: 지난 달에 이 대회에 참전하는 양식을 기입했거든.

Chris: What are you telling me?
크리스: 본론이 뭐야?

Lisa: I just found out that I won first prize.
리사: 지금 막 내가 1등에 당첨된 걸 알았어.

Chris: What did you win a toaster?
크리스: 뭘 상으로 받는 거야 토스터라도?

Lisa: We’re going to Hawaii for two weeks.
리사: 우리 둘이 2주간 하와이에 가는 거야.

Chris: I don’t know what to say.
크리스: 무슨 말을 할지 모르겠군.

기억할만한 표현

* slip (one’s) mind: 잊어버리다

“I promise I’ll be at the meeting. It won’t slip my mind again.”

(회의에 참석한다고 약속 드리죠. 이번엔 또 잊어버리지 않을게요.)

* fill out (something): 양식을 기입하다

“Please fill out this application and return it to me.”

(이 신청서를 기입해서 저한테 돌려주십시요.)

* find out: ~를 알아내다 알게되다

“When you find out the concert dates please tell me.”
