One of the simplest techniques to avoid similarity in your writing

The best way to avoid similarity in your writing is building and connecting concepts by yourself. But it requires systematic training and only place provides the training to build and connect concepts in the world is PonderEd (http://www.PonderEd.ca). If you are a student, you might need to write a paper before building these skills.

So, I am providing a very simple technique that you can use. With this, you can avoid similarity in your writing.

Here goes the method

Step 1. Copy a paragraph from a reference.

The following statement is from WHO (https://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus)

e.g.) Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

Step 2. Ask questions to define the words (especially nouns) in the paragraph.

e.g.)  What is virus? What is illness? What is cold? What is disease? etc.

Step 3. Describe the answers if you have. If not, look up them from any references.

e.g.) Viruses are microscopic parasites, generally much smaller than bacteria. They lack the capacity to thrive and reproduce outside of a host body. (This is from: https://www.livescience.com/53272-what-is-a-virus.html)

Step 4. Ask questions to define the words again.

e.g.) what is parasite? What are bacteria? What is reproduction? What is host? etc.

Step 5. Repeat this as long as you could.

Sep 6. Merge all the descriptions and rewrite the paragraph.

But, as mentioned above, the best way is to write on your own by building and connecting concepts. Every single person has different ways of thinking. So, if you write on your own, your writing will be different from others because thinking is like fingerprint.

Don’t rely on the knowledge you learned. There are many other people have the same knowledge. It won’t be easy to make differences if you simply use them.
