Writing Task 1.
I prefer option B of using home delivery mail service rather than option A of taking letters in person at a post office. I believe the benefits from option B far outweigh those from option A.
First of all, we should consider the fact that the home delivery service is more efficient. This is because it saves us the time and effort taken to visit the post office. In other words, we do not have to go all the way to the place and waiting in line. With this in mind, I strongly recommend the home delivery service.
Furthermore, we should take into consideration that there is no ‘business hours’ to the mail delivered to our home. All we have to do is check our mail box anytime we want to. We can even change the address to which the mail is delivered. In contrast, visiting the post office to pick up our mail can be hassle. Given these arguments, I believe home delivery service is the more desirable option.
With these the considerations in mind, I believe, it would be much wiser to choose using the delivery service rather than visiting the post office in person. Thank you for considering the factors I have presented.
Writing Task 2
Dear Manager,
Hello, I am writing to complain about the experience I have had at your restaurant. Last night, my family and I went to your restaurant to celebrate my husband’s promotion over dinner. It was so crowded that we had to wait for a while before we were seated. Other than the wait, we really appreciated our meal and had a quality time there.
This morning I found out that there was something wrong with my bill: It charged me $80 for a bottle of wine. This is absurd because none of our family members is able to drink liquor. As I mentioned, it was so busy on Friday night that the server mistook our table for any other one. It is my mistake that I did not check the bill in the first place. Still, it is not right to pay the bill for what we were not serviced for.
We were seated right in front of the door to the patio; there were four of us in the party and we had New York steak, Dinner B and Dinner C. We left the place around 9:00 p.m. Please let me know what went wrong with the bill and what you can do about it. You can contact me at 604-555-5555 or email me at ~~~. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Sarah Kim
